Privacy policy — RDM Tool

Last updated: 12 September 2026

Short version

RDM Tool collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. Nothing you do in the app is sent to the developer or to any third party.

What the app does with the network

The app talks to lighting equipment on the local network you point it at, using the Art-Net and RDM protocols over UDP. It sends packets to the node address you type in and to the broadcast addresses of the network interfaces your device is connected to, in order to find Art-Net nodes and the RDM fixtures behind them.

That traffic stays on your local network. The app contacts no server operated by the developer and has no internet backend.

Data stored on your device

The app stores no personal data. The values you type — a node's IP address, a DMX start address, a fixture name — exist only while the app is running and are not written to a file or a database.

Android may include the app in a device backup if you have that enabled. Such a backup is handled by Android and Google, not by this app.

Permissions and why they are needed

None of these permissions is used to collect information about you.

Children

The app is a technical tool for lighting equipment. It is not directed at children and contains no content intended for them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same address, with a new date at the top.
